Studio C has been a part of my life for the past fifteen years.  Although I don’t remember this, I’ve been told I walked in the studio as a three-year-old wearing cowboy boots with my leotard and tights.  I clearly had no idea what it meant to be in dance at that time, but years later, I am so proud to have had the opportunity.  Dance has given me a work ethic and sense of determination and self-confidence that will help me for the rest of my life.

In addition to dancing, I have been an active member of Central Baptist Church and Crave Student Ministry, and during the summer of my 10th grade year I traveled to Guatemala on a mission trip.  In the little spare time we had, I taught some of the young girls I met there how to “shuffle step”.  When we returned to the same village the next summer, we brought the girls their own tap shoes and continued their tap lessons in our free time.

I played piano from 3rd grade through my senior year while also remaining on the honor roll.  As an 8th grader, I added cheer to my schedule after weeks of arriving at the studio an hour before classes began each week to practice the cheers in front of the mirrors.  I continued cheer into high school, was an All-American, and became captain my senior year.  Student Council, the American Sign Language Club, and HOSA-Health Occupations Students of America were other activities that filled my time.  I also competed in the Junior Miss Polk County Pageant winning 2nd runner up in 2018.

During my senior year, I was accepted to Ole Miss, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Baylor University.  I am currently at Baylor studying interior design.

Fifteen years ago, a little girl walked into Studio C wearing her cowboy boots and dreaming of all things Disney.  This year, she walked out into the world with special memories and lifelong friendships.
